Painting

For this activity, the experiences gained are related to paintings for maintenance on industrial plants and paintings for the construction of new plants.

Have been performed on national territory major specialized work on fire resistance, anti-acidic coating and anti-abrasion.

The interest of M.C.P. for anticorrosion allows to include some of its technicians among the INAC inspectors. The company has homologated with ENEL an own painting cycle for condenser and sea water ducts. The cycle indicated in ENEL technical specifications is currently in force. In particular are highlighted the methodology for sandblasting, carried out at plants, aimed at the containment of dust and to the environmental compliance.

  • Sandblasting, with appropriate confinement and aspiration with dust reduction
  • Aerohydroblasting
  • Paint removal with high pressure water up to 3000 bar

At our headquarters of Civitavecchia, has bees realized a sandblasting and painting plant. The plant equipped with the most modern dust, paint and solvent abatement systems has a space of 15,000 sqm for the storing components to be treated.

Turbine sandblasting

In this sector, M.C.P. is a leading domestic and international company, in particular for gas and steam turbine sandblasting, collectors and pipes of steam generators. The surface is sandblasted with SA3 grade for N.D.T.

Shoot peening are also performed to improvement of the fatigue resistance of the mechanical components according to the UNI 5394-72.

In the field of steam turbine sandblasting, of great power and present in both fossil and nuclear power plants, innovative techniques have been made and exclusive equipment has been created, combined with the high degree of professionalism of the operators, have allowed high quality standards and a considerable reduction in execution times, helping to reduce the major inspection period of the turbine. The use of exclusive sandblasting tents, maintained in vacuum by mean dust extraction with dedusting lower than 5mg / Nmc, allows sandblasting to be carried out in the engine room with a high degree of compliance with environmental and occupational hygiene standards. It avoids the handling of turbine components with trucks outside the engine room. The quality of surface preparation and the improvement of fluid dynamics efficiency, without damaging the bladings, guaranteed by the use of strumentation for the control of the roughness and the almen tests for the determination of the sandblasting parameters.

The experience gained in almost 40 years of activity has allowed the achievement of relevant qualitative targets, targets appreciated by the major international manufacturers of rotary machines. In the last 20 years it has been decided to introduce the technology and experience of steam turbine sandblasting gained in the thermoelectric sector also in the nuclear sector which, with some appropriate precautions, has met with great success. Through the nuclear sector, for us in continuous expansion, it has been possible to reach a complete sectoral overview followed by continuous training processes for the resources used.

Application of ceramic products - Painting and sandblasting - Activity - M.C.P. S.r.l.

Application of ceramic products

M.C.P. Has consolidated remarkable experience in the application of ceramic composite polymers, for the reconstruction and protection of mechanical components and cement, which have undergone strong erosion, corrosion and chemical attack. The wide range of composite products allows reconstruction for lack of metal, in replacement of the material carryover with the welding, both the prior coating to improve the resistance to erosion and corrosion. Numerous interventions were carried out on the following machineries:

  • Vacuum pumps
  • Turbo separators
  • Condensers (hoppers, wear plates, heat exchangers, etc ...)
  • Pump bodies and impellers of various types for brine, sludge, paper, etc ...
  • Butterfly valves, tube elbows, etc....
  • Water treatment plant slopes

The M.C.P.  technicians, who are in charge of the industry, have attended technical training courses and refresher seminars at the world's leading manufacturers of ceramic compounds polymers in Europe and the United States.

Dry Ice blasting

The cleaning activity through cryogenic sandblasting (or dry ice) involves the use of solid CO2 pellets of about 3 mm in diameter projected at very high speed through a compressed air jet.

The granules, produced at -78 °C, pass directly from solid to gaseous state thanks to the sublimation process and, through the combined action of kinetic and thermal energy, ensure effective removal of contaminating materials (paint, incrustations, dirty, etc ...).

It is indicated for removing impurities from any surface, reaching even the most inaccessible areas, without disassembling any piece and with obvious advantages in terms of immediate recovery of the production activity.

It guarantees a total cleanliness, without residues, with the advantage of not damaging the underlying support (not removing material), to eliminate all environmental issues, such as dust protection that arises from the execution of the operation, and to reduce waste disposal costs resulting from the cleaning.
